FINANCIAL PLANNING CONFERENCE
April is off to a flying start at dbsn group - literally! Five of our team members headed over to the Professional Investment Services annual financial planning conference in Kuala Lumpur.
Andrew Buhk & his financial planning team achieved the status of a 'Platinum Club' member for the conference for the second year running. This means that the financial planning team were part of the top 5% of the Professional Investment Services network for the 12 months to December 2008.
The conference presented our team with the opportunity to access current information on the status of the market and hear from a number of leading market representatives. Andrew and the team are looking forward to sharing this information with their clients.
OUTLOOK
We all read the newspapers and hear and see the doom and gloom in the media. However, it has become clear that this tough economic time is also a question of attitude. At dbsn group, we have seen many clients recognise this downturn as a time of opportunity and a chance to take positive steps towards differentiating themselves in the market place and maintaining a competitive edge. Indeed, this is the tact that dbsn group are taking internally also!
TEAM UPDATES
From 1 January 2009, Melissa Austin & Jodee Byrne have been promoted to Associates of the practice. Both Melissa and Jodee are long time employees of dbsn and have relished the opportunity to lead the firm into a new era.
Chris Welsh & Hayden Rooney have also been promoted to Managers of our Business Services Unit. Chris & Hayden will lead our Business Services team to exceed all client expectations.
Sheila Penney will be leaving us at the end of April. Sheila and her husband Anthony are expecting their second child later this year and are moving north to be closer to family. We wish Sheila all the very best for the birth of her new baby and the future.
Abe Woolley is also moving on at the end of April. Abe will remain on the coast but he has been offered a great professional opportunity that he can't pass up. We will certainly miss Abe's candidness and his appetite - who will eat our leftovers now? Best of luck Abe for the future.
