Area of expertise: All areas of taxation compliance for all types of small to medium businesses including income tax, GST and Capital Gains Tax, Business Structuring, General Advice and Tax Planning.

Career Overview: Chris completed a commerce degree majoring in accounting and finance at the University of Southern Queensland in November 2003 and joined McConachie Stedman a mid sized public practice firm in Toowoomba.  After two and a half years with McConachie Stedman which included a six month sojourn to the United Kingdom to play cricket and travel, the Sunshine Coast lifestyle beckoned and Chris moved to the Sunshine Coast with partner Anna in July 2006 taking up a position with the dbsn group.

A further stint playing cricket in the United Kingdom was undertaken in the winter of 2007 before Chris settled back on the Sunshine Coast at the dbsn group in October 2007 as a team leader of the Business Services division.

Career Overview: Gordon has over 20 years experience in Finance and Human Resources within Local Government, Private Enterprise (Large & Small) and Not for Profit organisations. Gordon also spent 3 years in Management Rights and in his early years spent time working in Cabinet Making and the Timber & Hardware Industry.

Life Outside dbsn: Family - Kellie, Mackenzie & Harry, Jet Skiing, Golf and Tennis.

Area of Expertise: Financials, all areas of tax and GST compliance for Individuals and Small to Medium Business.  Advice in relation to business structuring, Asset Protection, Capital Gains Tax and general enquiries.

Career Overview: Rachel completed her business degree majoring in accounting and finance at Southern Cross University in Lismore NSW.  She began her career in NSW where she worked for a medium size private practice firm.  Deciding that she would like to explore commercial accounting Rachel gained employment at a local Credit Union where she undertook duties such as monthly reporting to the board in relation to the preparation of the monthly Profit and Loss Statements and Balance Sheet.  She also kept control of the asset register, daily bank reconciliations and cash flow requirements.  In 2007 Rachel relocated to the Sunshine Coast and soon after started work with the dbsn group where she is now a client manager.

Qualifications/Affiliations: Certified Practising Accountant, Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting & Finance.

Area of expertise: Tax compliance and general consulting advice for businesses, including income tax, GST, FBT and capital gains tax, business structuring, business acquisitions & feasibility, business disposals and general commercial advice.

Career Overview: Ted worked for over 8 years in public practice with Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Melbourne and Brisbane. That time included secondments with Holden Limited and ENERGEX where he acted as the Group Taxation Manager for 13 months. Ted also filled the role of General Manager of Corporate Services at a not-for-profit organisation in Melbourne before working in public practice on the Sunshine Coast.

Qualifications / Affiliations: Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Laws (Honours), Qualified to be a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2001.

Life Outside dbsn: Spending time with wife Michaela, 3 year old son Declan and their extended family, sports enthusiast and helping others on personal development courses on weekends.

Career Overview: Emily has over 8 years experience working as a public practice accountant. Emily began her accounting career as a trainee with Duesburys in Gippsland, Victoria. After 6 years, Emily worked her way up to a Senior Accountant position within the firm.  However the Sunshine Coast lifestyle beckoned and Emily and her husband made the move in August 2006.

Qualifications/Affiliations: Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting.

Life Outside dbsn: Movies, reading, gardening, catching up with friends and spending time with my husband and two dogs.

Career Overview: Meegan has 6 years experience in public practice on the Sunshine Coast. Meegan and her husband operate their own small earthmoving business, which allows her to understand the practicalities of small business practices.

Qualifications/Affiliations: Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Management. Member of the National Institute of Accountants. Has just begun Certified Practising Accountants qualification with expected completion in 2010

Life Outside dbsn: Spending time with Husband and two children Shawn and Sienna, Outdoor Activities and relaxing with a good DVD.

Career Overview: Prior to joining dbsn group in early 2008, Barbara’s experience included 17 years within the newspaper industry involving the audit of 56 regional publications.  Barbara and her husband have also owned Management Rights on the Sunshine Coast allowing her to understand the requirements for so many of our clients in this business area.

Career Overview: Adrian commenced with dbsn group in July 2007.

Area of expertise: Jennifer’s main role is to assist and support the Business Services Team with their every day administrative duties.

Career Overview: Jennifer has been working with dbsn group since 2000.  In that time she has gone from Office Junior to Client Services Team Leader and now takes on the new role of Business Services Assistant.

Life Outside dbsn: Spending time with family & friends, fishing, water sports and enjoying the great Sunshine Coast lifestyle.
